Why did I Adopt the Moniker , "The Emergency Room Art"?
“THE EMERGENCY ROOM ART”, is encountered through its three first major themes, each representing a distinct emotional and psychological aspect of the human experience. This title is a convenient metaphor for expressing where people confront their most vulnerable moments. my artworks revolve around themes of human struggle and hope, often exploring issues of mental health, leadership and social injustice, environmental issues, spiritualism, and the complexities of human emotions. I paint to create and inspire urgent and self-examining thoughts in myself and in the viewer – no schemes, no ruses, no patronage. My artworks are issue-based and will not do well complimenting a world already so ruined by natural and man-made events. What are my intentions? My works must invite you to discuss, debate, and possibly, confront these issues. If they don’t, I will have failed in my profession as an artist and a creator. I have christened my art “The Emergency Room Art” because I believe that the aforementioned attributes of art are so imperative in our present time that a work of art that does not strive after those must be deemed a trifling waste of time.
